Madrid, October 4, 2023 – The Real Green Food Co., a Spanish vegetable company and leader in the cultivation and marketing of mushrooms, presented its new brand of cultivated fresh mushrooms, The Real ChampiON, yesterday at the Fruit Attraction trade fair.

The event was hosted by Eneko Fernández, winner of MasterChef 11. The chef prepared live ChampiONs with polenta, roasted cherries, feta, and basil. “The mushroom is a product of extraordinary versatility. It is a natural flavor enhancer and has spectacular nutritional values. However, it is essential to choose mushrooms with maximum freshness. This is only guaranteed by local and quality produce. With The Real ChampiON you have that guarantee,” said the television chef.

In a market where there is no premium brand for fresh mushrooms, The Real ChampiON seeks to lead and promote consumption. “When we compare Spain with other European countries, we see that the mushroom market here has great potential. The average Spaniard consumes only 1.1 kilos of fresh mushrooms per year, while a Dutchman, for example, consumes 11.6 kilos!” explained Aitor Sanzol, sales director of The Real Green Food Co. “For us, the opportunity is enormous. Spanish consumers are demanding quality vegetable products of national origin that respect the environment. That is why, with The Real ChampiON, we want to respond to that demand and lead the category,” he added.

After tasting the prepared recipe, professional attendees were able to hold work meetings at the brand’s stand, located within pavilion 5 B04 in the La Rioja area. The Real ChampiON also participated with its new 100% recycled and 100% recyclable cardboard packaging in the Innovation Hub, a space where the most outstanding innovations in the international fruit and vegetable sector are exhibited.
